I didn't find one straight path. I kept following the part of me that was still curious.
I grew up in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro, surrounded by color, warmth, and people who taught me to look closely. After moving to the United States, I studied Art History at Syracuse University and spent a decade in fashion—training my eye to understand style, silhouette, story, and the quiet power of a well-made image.
Then I chose motherhood for fifteen years. When that chapter shifted, I was 45 and ready to recognize myself again. Photography arrived less like a career plan and more like a return. The camera gave me a way to make people feel seen—and that changed everything.
The plot twists.
Every chapter trained the eye, deepened the empathy, and made the work more honest.
Fashion made it precise.
Ten years in the industry sharpened how I read shape, style, and visual language. Nothing in a frame is accidental.
Motherhood made it human.
Fifteen years of raising a family changed how I listen. It taught me patience, presence, and how much exists beneath the surface.
Photography made it mine.
Behind the camera, everything connected. Art, instinct, direction, empathy—and the chance to show someone what I already see.

What drives the work
The things I refuse to fake.
A portrait can be polished without becoming impersonal. The point is not perfection. The point is recognition.
Curiosity
I keep asking one more question and trying one more frame. That's usually where the honest image is waiting.
Courage
Being visible asks something of us. My job is to create enough trust for you to step into that space without shrinking.
Empathy
I pay attention to how you feel in front of the camera, not only how you look. Safety changes posture. Trust changes expression.

After ten years of photographing women, I kept witnessing the same shift: when a woman feels genuinely seen, she stands differently in her own life.
As You Are grew from that truth. It celebrates women now—not after the reinvention, the milestone, the weight loss, or the permission.
